Baby found…

after amber alert.   http://www.pjstar.com/news  http://www.pjstar.com/news/x1238770020/Baby-safe-mother-arrested-after-Amber-Alert

Yesterday morning as I was just sitting down getting ready to watch The Young and the Restless my weather/public alert radio went off with an amber alert.  Believe me when I say that radio sound alert is loud enough to get a deaf person’s attention.

I cannot imagine what possessed that young mother to abandon her child on a rural country road that has little traffic.  Heartbreaking!

It is a beautiful day at 49 degrees and to get into the lower 70s today.  Just a perfect day.  My niece is coming for lunch.  I had errands to run but I decided to wait and do that tomorrow.  Nothing urgent except I need a few things from the store.

I hope you all have a great weekend.  Peaceful and pleasant.  Stay safe and be happy!!

Beth

  1. I do not understand how parents can do something like that. If they don't want the baby or can't handle the baby, they need to look for someone to give the baby to. There are many of us who would love to have a baby girl.

  2. Beth, I wish that young people who are overwhelmed with rasing their babies, would just take them to a hospital or church....we have got to come up with a better way, so children aren't beaten, killed or abandoned. Sometimes, I think the person is totally whacked and other times, I think they just needed a break or someone to talk to. It must be hard to walk in their shoes.I pay attention to those amber alarts...you never know. Smiles, Susie

    1. I've not seen an alert like that in a long time. It's beyond sad to see such things. Not long ago someone shook a baby and the baby died...that was well and truly heartbreaking. Sounds like our temperatures are about what yours our...the mornings are just plain too cool for me...guess I'd better get used to it though. Have a good day my friend.

  5. That young mother must be very troubled to abandon her child in that manner. Thankfully the baby was safe!

I hope you are feeling well, Beth, and are taking care of yourself! Your health is of utmost importance!

  6. I have to agree with you. A daughter of a friend of mine from high school was just arrested for beating her 3 month old son so badly he had broken legs and arms. Why?

    Hope you're feeling better!

  7. Some people just don't want to be parents. I don't like abortion, but one of the values of planned parenthood is to help girls keep from getting pregnant in the first place, and help keep young women healthy so that those who want them may be healthy enough to be able to do so with fewer problems. I know that isn't the whole answer to child abuse. It must be sooo sad and confusing for a child to be treated badly for a parent's problems.

    Be well, Beth. BGB

  8. The amber alert story is a very sad one indeed. I'm glad to hear the baby is going to be OK.

I hope you had a nice visit with your niece. Have a good weekend!

  9. Well, 19 and two babies in a little over 10 months...I suppose she must have just cracked or something. What a shame! I, too, wish she knew more about birth control!! At least the baby is okay. We had one shaken to death up here not long ago, too. So sad.

I hope you had a nice day and you have a really good weekend. :)

  10. From my understanding of the article, the mother left the baby and her other child in the car while she went in the post office and some other woman snatched the baby from the car and she is apparently the one who abandoned the baby on the rural road. They didn't give a name of a suspect, but gave the description of the car she was driving. The mother is guilty of leaving children in the car, but she wasn't the one who abandoned the baby, from what I read. Did I read that article wrong? Thank God the couple who found the baby happened to park nearby and heard the baby crying!!!

    1. Yes, you read it wrong, the mother left the baby in a remote rural area and then reported her missing. She has since been arrested and DCFS has her other 11 month old child.

  11. It is hard to understand why people do things. With so many people unable to have babies, and so many people having them that shouldn't...this is a mystery beyond reason. I am glad this little one is safe and sound.
Take care of yourself, beth. Hugs!

  13. I'm not a parent but it's still hard to comprhend why a mother would do this. Stating the obvious, it sounds like her life had spun out of control. So sad.

The fabulous weather streak has ended and we now have some dreary weather to contend with, but I don't care, I have to work till 9 pm tonight.

  14. Oh cripes, fancy abandoning a baby, though obviously we didn't get the newsflash here, it's still a pretty heartless and possibly desperate thing to do, I hope get re-united and the young lady gets the help she must need.

  15. Having a difficult time making a comment. It just refuses. Let's see what happens this time.

I make it plain how priveleged I am to have had three children. People like that woman are long past a mystery to me. I can't imagine such an act.

  16. It shocks me half the time why people do what they do. Glad they found the kid and hope they fix crazy mom up. I smiled when you said you watch the Young and Restless.
