Is minus 6 cold enough for you?

If not then we will factor in the wind chill which is 16 below zero.  Baby, it’s cold outside.  I couldn’t go anywhere if I wanted to, which I don’t.  When our driveway was plowed yesterday I had enough snow thrown behind my car to be above the trunk now.  I thought I had it bad until I received photos from my nephew in northern Illinois.

Not sure about that last picture, but my great niece was having fun with the snow.
I am trying to think of something good to cook on a cold winter day.  I am thinking salmon patties with creamed peas or tuna fish casserole.  Taking votes.  Something different.  I used to make salmon patties a lot because they were one of Jim’s favorite meals.  The cookies are in the freezer as I was enjoying them too much.
Time for me to fix breakfast.  I hope you all have a great day.  At least the sun is shining here on top of all of that snow.

  1. Wow, my eyes popped right out! That snow will take forever to melt and I can't even imagine trying to dig out. Great pictures he sent!
My vote is salmon patties but only because I fixed salmon fillets stuffed with crab meat for dinner last night and still have a craving. Creamed peas sound so good me. I haven't had those in years.
Time for my coffee and see you soon :D

  2. I'd like the recipe for those salmon patties...
Now, that is a lot of snow...we got some more last night, but most has already melted away...I like the picture with the rake in the snow, reminds you that when the snow shoveling is gone the grass mowing won't be far behind...

  4. Now that's what I call a lot of snow. It doesn't look so bad here compared to that. I go for tuna, I'm not a fan of salmon.

  7. Hi Beth

Wow double Wow, too much snow - hope you are managing to keep warm and comfortable. I would opt for salmon, because I don't like tuna. Take care, Hugs - Nita

  8. Winter is nature's way of saying, "Up yours." Obviously. The trouble with weather forecasting is that it's right too often for us to ignore it and wrong too often for us to rely on it. My gosh! Those are quite the amazing photos.

  9. Crikey, Beth, that's what you call snow, none of your little christmas card type sprinkle, a person could get buried in that for days. scary and I| bet cold, super photos. For cold days I think there's nothing to beat a good pot of soup, I make a mean lentil, bacon and veg. But salmon patties sound good.

  11. Ugh! Minus 6! We're having a heat wave at 20 compared to that. The snow looks very familiar though. I'm happy that your snug as a bug in a rug. Now that I think of it, I take that back. That's really a disgusting saying. I'm happy you're all cozy like in your home.

  12. Great family photos! That snow does look like lots of fun to play in. I know Jaiden and I would have a blast playing in that.

  13. Good that someone is getting some joy out of that weather! That's really something! It's warmer here...less snow but the wind remains so it doesn't feel very warm. Delightful pictures my friend!

  14. That is why I told my hubby I did not want to live in the north anymore. Keep the snow there. It is warmer here and lot more summer months. We lived in Michigan for the first three years of our marriage. The winters I did not care for. Newest follower check out my blog at www.stileshouseisfull.blogspot.com

We just will have/had some freezing rain and a bit of snow. Worst two winters that I know of. for ALL of us.
